Adding a Terrace node

The Terrace node modifies a terrain by creating terraces. The node has two inputs, a terrain to transform and an optional mask to define the areas where the terraces are created, and an output terrain.

To add a Terrace node, right-click in the Graph Editor and select Create Node  > Terrain Transformation  > Terrace.

Select the node to open its parameters:

Editing a Terrace node

  • No. of terraces: Select a number of terraces, between 2 and 30.

For example, here is a terrain with 4 terraces.

And here is a terrain with 30 terraces.

  • Slope angle: Set the average angle of the slope between two terraces to between 45° and 89°.

For example, an angle of 89° produces almost vertical slopes.

An angle of 60° provides a good compromise between the terrace area and the slope area.

An angle of 45° has only slopes and therefore the original terrain is displayed.
